Jennifer Crow has been working in Kansas politics for twelve years, and grew up in a family actively involved in politics throughout her life.  Born in Topeka and raised in Leavenworth, she graduated from Leavenworth High School and earned her Bachelor in Science and Education from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.  While teaching 5th grade in inner city Kansas City, Kansas and the suburban Blue Valley School District, she also established and grew a Summer camp and evening children’s program in inner city Kansas City, Missouri.  In 1999, she entered Washburn Law School and worked as a registered lobbyist for Federico Consulting.  Upon graduation, she practiced law in the Johnson and Wyandotte County area, focusing on consumer and family law.  She worked in private practice with Bryson Cloon, Greg Blume and current US Attorney Barry Grissom.  In 2003, Governor Kathleen Sebelius called upon Jennifer to serve as her Legislative Liaison to the Kansas Senate and lead staffer on human services, health care, early childhood, Native Americans and the Judiciary.  She led the Governor’s Healthy Kansas initiative to passage  and collaborated with the federal government on Medicaid and Medicare issues.    In 2007, Jennifer left government service to establish the Coalition for School Readiness, a partnership of early childhood and business leaders dedicated to expansion of early childhood programs in the state.  In 2009, the coalition advocated for and successfully passed a historic investment in Kansas’ early childhood programs, increasing access to quality early learning programs for thousands of children.  The coalition has endured and continues to protect current investments during the recession of 2010 and 2011.  Upon successful completion of the Coalition for School Readiness campaign, Jennifer established her own lobbying practice, specializing in education, child welfare, elder care, hospitals, health and human services, and issues impacting the Kansas legal profession, small businesses and organized labor.  She works and resides in Topeka.
